Ensour first secured a seat in the Jordanian Parliament in 1989, serving consecutive terms in the House of Representatives. His ministerial experience began in 1984 as Minister of Planning. Over the following decades, he held various cabinet positions, including Minister of Education, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Industry and Trade, and Minister of Higher Education. Between legislative sessions, he remained active in the Senate, holding memberships in the Finance and Foreign Affairs committees during multiple terms ranging from 1997 to his current tenure starting in 2022.
