Series three
The Voice Kids UK runs on ITV1 and is open to singers aged 7 to 14. Its third series, in 2019, was won by Wilkinson from the team of the coach Danny Jones, with Emma Willis presenting. The other three finalists were Gracie-Jayne Fitzgerald, Keira Laver and Lil Shan Shan.
The coaching panel that year was will.i.am, Jessie J, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones. A win on the show is therefore two results at once: the public vote in the live final, and the judgement of a coach who has chosen and worked with the singer over several rounds. Jones's team produced the 2019 champion.
How the show works
The format is the children's version of the adult franchise and keeps its structure. Blind auditions come first: the coaches sit with their backs to the stage and turn their chairs only if they want the voice, which removes appearance, stagecraft and, for a child performer, size and self-possession from the first judgement.
Battles follow, in which singers from the same team compete and the coach cuts the team down. A semi-final narrows the field again, and the series closes with a live final from which the winner emerges. For a competitor aged between 7 and 14 this is several rounds of nationally televised elimination inside a few weeks, which is a more demanding thing than the cheerful presentation suggests.
The prize
The winner of The Voice Kids UK receives £30,000. In the 2019 series all four finalists were also given a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida.
A cash prize of that size handed to a child performer is the part of the show most often misreported. What the title carries is money and a holiday. It is not a recording contract, and it is not a tour, which is the more defensible settlement with a winner who is still at school.
What is known since
Here the record stops, and the page will not pretend otherwise. The source available for this page is the series results table for The Voice Kids UK, which documents the outcome, the coach and the finalists, and nothing else. It does not give Wilkinson's age at the time, his home town, his school, the songs he performed, or what he has done since 2019.
Two practical difficulties compound the gap. His name is a common one in Britain, so search results conflate several different people; and he was a child when he appeared, which is a good reason for the absence of follow-up coverage rather than a mystery to be solved. Nothing on this page should be read as a statement about where he is now.
