Early Development and Transition to Wrestling
Born in Balıkesir in 1991 to Naim and Ayşegül Adar, she attended Gaziosmanpaşa High School before pursuing physical education at Balıkesir University and Trakya University. Her transition from shot put to wrestling occurred after she was scouted by Aslan Seyhanlı. She eventually represented Trakya Birlik SK in domestic and international freestyle competitions.

Early attempts at global success included the 2012 World Championships and the 2013 European Championships, where she did not medal. Her breakthrough arrived at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey, where she secured gold. In 2016, she won Turkey's first-ever women's wrestling gold at the European Championships in Riga, Latvia, by defeating Alena Storodubtseva.
World Titles and Olympic Participation
She earned world titles in 2017 and 2022, the latter following a 6-0 victory over Samar Amer in Belgrade. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, she secured a bronze medal in the 76 kg category. She later participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she finished eighth after a repechage loss to Génesis Reasco.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2023, she claimed her sixth European title in Zagreb. In 2024, she secured another gold at the European Championships in Bucharest and qualified for the 2024 Olympics. Her final international appearance came at the 2025 European Championships in Bratislava, where she earned silver against Anastasiya Alpyeyeva before retiring from active competition at age 33.
