As an active member of Klub Wysokogórski and Polskie Towarzystwo Tatrzanskie, Żuławski played a significant role in organizing and advancing the sport of alpinism in Poland. His commitment to the mountains extended to his writing, where he produced several books focusing on climbing themes. These titles include Niebieski krzyż, published in 1946, followed by Sygnały ze skalnych ścian in 1954, Tragedie tatrzańskie in 1956, and Skalne lato in 1957.
Military Service and Humanitarian Recognition
During World War II, Żuławski served as an officer cadet and was a member of the Armia Krajowa. He actively participated in the Warsaw Uprising. Decades later, his actions during the Holocaust were formally acknowledged. In 1980, he was recognized as Righteous Among the Nations, an honor bestowed upon individuals who risked their lives to save Jewish people from persecution. His public service was further marked by the receipt of the Medal of the 10th Anniversary of People's Poland in 1955.
