Redgrave gained prominence as a film actor with the 1966 satire Morgan – A Suitable Case for Treatment, which earned her a Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress and her first Academy Award nomination. That same year, she appeared in the films A Man for All Seasons and Blowup. Her subsequent work included portrayals in Camelot, The Devils, and the title role in Mary, Queen of Scots. In 1977, she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Julia.
