Tony Nader began his professional career as a trained neurologist with academic credentials from the American University of Beirut and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Born in 1955 in Lebanon, his work has spanned medical research in neurochemistry and neuroendocrinology, later evolving into a career as an author and administrator within the Transcendental Meditation movement.
Academic and Medical Foundation
Nader attended the American University of Beirut, where he completed degrees in internal medicine and psychiatry. He subsequently moved to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to earn a Ph.D. in Brain and Cognitive Science. His professional medical training included tenure as a visiting physician at the MIT Clinical Research Center and as a clinical and research fellow at a teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School. His early scientific investigations focused on hormones, neurotransmitters, and the complex interplay between diet, mood, and physiological function.

In 1987, Nader commenced work at the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center in Lancaster. His research output shifted toward exploring correlations between human physiology and Vedic literature. In 1994, he published his first book, Human Physiology: Expression of Veda and the Vedic Literature, where he proposed a connection between 40 aspects of Vedic texts and specific parts of the human body. He followed this in 2011 with the publication of Ramayan In Human Physiology, which analyzes the relationships between the epic Valmiki Ramayana and bodily structures.
Leadership and Global Governance
By 2000, Nader was appointed First Sovereign Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. He received the title Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam during a ceremony and was named the successor to the movement's founder in 2008. His administrative responsibilities have included serving as president of both the Maharishi University of Management and the Maharishi Open University. Since 2015, he has acted as the editor-in-chief for the International Journal of Mathematics and Consciousness.
