He provided notable portrayals of Italian political figures, specifically as Giulio Andreotti in the 2008 film Il Divo and as Silvio Berlusconi in the 2018 film Loro. His breakthrough year occurred in 2008, when he appeared in both Il Divo and Gomorrah, both of which received Golden Palm nominations. His ongoing filmography includes appearances in the 2021 production The Hand of God and the 2025 film La grazia.
