Thirty-two overall in the 2012 NBA draft, Tomáš Satoranský developed his game through European leagues before securing a professional career across multiple international rosters. Born in 1991 in Prague 4, this Czech athlete stands at 6 ft 7 in and typically operates at point guard, though his height allows for versatility at shooting guard or small forward positions.

Early Career and Spanish Development

Satoranský began his professional trajectory with USK Praha between 2007 and 2009. His performance prompted a move to the Spanish ACB League where he joined CB Sevilla for a five-season tenure starting in 2009. In 2014, he transitioned to FC Barcelona Lassa on a two-year contract, maintaining a presence in top-tier European competition before departing for overseas opportunities in 2016.

Professional Tenure and NBA Transitions

Upon signing with the Washington Wizards in 2016, Satoranský established himself in the rotation. He reached a career-high 25 points against the Chicago Bulls in 2018 and recorded his first triple-double in January 2019 against the Milwaukee Bucks. Subsequent trades took him through the Chicago Bulls, the New Orleans Pelicans, the Portland Trail Blazers, and the San Antonio Spurs. He returned to Washington for the conclusion of the 2022 season.

Return to Europe and Current Status

In July 2022, Satoranský signed a four-year agreement to return to FC Barcelona, playing alongside Jan Veselý. He contributed to the team's 2022–23 ACB championship victory over Real Madrid. Following the retirement of team captain Álex Abrines in July 2025, Satoranský assumed the captaincy. Since July 2026, he has played for Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League and the EuroLeague.

International Competition

Representing the Czech Republic, Satoranský progressed through every age category of the national basketball program. He debuted with the senior squad during the 2009 EuroBasket qualifiers and participated in the 2010 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship. His international appearances include multiple EuroBasket tournaments, the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualification, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
