Early Career and Bundesliga Success
Rosický began his professional football career with Sparta Prague in 1998. After helping the team secure national league titles, his performance during the 2000–01 UEFA Champions League group stage drew international attention. In January 2001, he joined Borussia Dortmund for a fee of DM 25 million, approximately £8 million, which set a new record for a Bundesliga transfer. In May 2006, Rosický signed a long-term contract with Arsenal. Over ten seasons in the Premier League, he made 247 appearances for the club, including a victory in the 2014 FA Cup Final. His time in London was frequently interrupted by long-term injuries, notably a hamstring tendon issue that sidelined him for the entire 2008–09 season. Despite these physical setbacks, he remained a fixture in the Arsenal midfield, scoring various goals across Premier League and Champions League fixtures.
International Contributions
Rosický made his debut for the Czech Republic in 2000 and assumed the role of national team captain in 2006. Over his international career, he participated in four UEFA European Championships and the 2006 FIFA World Cup. On 12 June 2015, he reached a significant milestone by earning his 100th cap for his country. He currently holds the position of the fourth highest goalscorer in the history of the Czech national team.
