Her professional trajectory included a faculty position at the University of Le Mans before returning to Pierre and Marie Curie University as a maître de conférences in 1989. In 1992, she accepted a professorship at Paris Nanterre University. She eventually joined the faculty at the École Polytechnique in 2006, where she continued her research and teaching within the French academic system.
Research and Editorial Leadership
Méléard has produced influential literature on population dynamics, including Stochastic Models for Structured Populations: Scaling Limits and Long Time Behavior, co-authored with Vincent Bansaye and published by Springer in 2015. Additionally, she authored Modèles aléatoires en ecologie et evolution in 2016. Since 2018, she has served as editor-in-chief of the journal Stochastic Processes and Their Applications, while also holding an executive position within the Bernoulli Society.
Professional Recognition
Her influence in the field of probability was marked in September 2018 by a conference held at the Institut Henri Poincaré to celebrate her 60th birthday. Méléard is a member of the Institut Universitaire de France and was elected to the Academia Europaea in 2021. The 2024 Irène-Joliot-Curie Prize further recognizes her ongoing contributions to the scientific community.
