An aviation enthusiast, he experienced a severe incident in 2014 when his Cessna 206 seaplane capsized during a landing attempt near Rödlöga. The aircraft struck the water at 110 kilometers per hour due to landing gear remaining deployed. He was trapped for 90 minutes before rescue. Following this event, he ceased flying activities.
