At the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 Olympics, Francia secured gold medals as a member of the women's eight. Her performance at the 2006 FISA World Rowing Championships included a gold medal finish with a world-best time of 5:55.50. Between 2005 and 2012, she claimed the championship eight title at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on five separate occasions. Additional victories include the Remenham Challenge Cup at the 2006 and 2011 Henley Royal Regatta, as well as multiple wins in pair and double sculls events during various national selection regattas.
Transition to Coaching
Following her active competition years, Francia moved into coaching roles. She served as an assistant coach for the women's rowing team at UCSD for the 2017–18 and 2018–19 seasons. Furthermore, she held the position of head coach for the junior women's varsity rowing team at the San Diego Rowing Club.
