Scottie Scheffler

Scott Alexander Scheffler, born on June 21, 1996, in Ridgewood, New Jersey, stands as a dominant force in professional golf with over 175 weeks spent as the world number one. Since turning professional in 2018, he has accumulated four major championships and remains the only golfer to secure consecutive victories at The Players Championship.

Formative Years and Amateur Development

Introduced to golf at age three, Scheffler practiced by hitting ping-pong balls inside his New Jersey home. Following his family's relocation to Dallas, Texas, he refined his skills at Royal Oaks Country Club under the guidance of Randy Smith. During his tenure at Highland Park High School, he secured three consecutive individual state titles. He later attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he excelled as a collegiate player, winning the 2015 Big 12 Individual Championship and graduating with a finance degree in 2018.

Professional Ascent

After graduating, Scheffler transitioned to the professional circuit, earning his 2019 Web.com Tour status through qualifying school. His professional emergence culminated in being named the 2020 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. By March 2022, he achieved the world number one ranking, a milestone he solidified with his first major title at the 2022 Masters Tournament just one month later.

Major Championships and Global Records

Scheffler's career is marked by sustained excellence, including four major championship titles: two Masters Tournament victories, the 2025 PGA Championship, and the 2025 Open Championship. Beyond the majors, he captured the gold medal in the men's individual tournament at the 2024 Summer Olympics. He has earned the PGA Tour Player of the Year title for four consecutive seasons and leads the tour's all-time money list with career earnings surpassing $130 million as of 2026.
