Rodríguez held a position at the University of Santiago, Chile, until 1985, when her employment was terminated during the regime of Augusto Pinochet. Following support from her colleagues, she secured a position at the Federico Santa María Technical University. She later served as president of the Chilean Mathematical Society between 2006 and 2010. Her institutional influence extended to the founding of the Iberoamerican Congress on Geometry.
Publications and Editorial Work
She has contributed to the literature of her field through both authored textbooks and collaborative editorial projects. In 2007, she co-authored Complex Analysis: In the Spirit of Lipman Bers alongside Irwin Kra and Jane Piore Gilman, with a second edition following in 2013. Additionally, she collaborated with Linda Keen and Irwin Kra to co-edit the 2015 volume Lipman Bers, a Life in Mathematics.
