Executive Roles in Italian Football

Prior to her appointment as chairperson of A.S. Roma, Sensi held the position of CEO, known in Italian as amministratore delegato. Her tenure as chairperson occurred during a period where she stood as one of only two women leading clubs in Serie A, Italy's premier professional football league, alongside Francesca Menarini of Bologna F.C. 1909. In 2006, she secured election to the board of Lega Calcio, serving as vice-chairperson. By 2010, she attained the role of first vice-chairperson for the newly established Lega Serie A.

Divestment of A.S. Roma

The financial state of her family company, Compagnia Italpetroli, necessitated significant restructuring involving UniCredit. On 8 July 2010, Sensi reached an agreement to sell A.S. Roma to address accumulated debts. While the bank sought an external buyer, she maintained her duties as chairperson. On 31 March 2011, she resigned from her post as a consortium led by Thomas DiBenedetto finalized a takeover arrangement. The transaction concluded on 16 April 2011 for a value of 70.3 million euros, transferring Roma 2000 S.r.l. into the NEEP Roma Holding joint venture.
