In 1993, Januškevičius attained the Doctor of Science degree, also known as habilitation. His doctoral thesis, Stability for characterizations of distributions, was issued as a monograph. His research addresses the practical application of characterization theorems, specifically when conditions are met only approximately rather than exactly. This involves determining the degree to which conclusions remain valid under such limitations, a process that frequently utilizes non-homogeneous convolution equations. He consolidated his findings on the stability of these distributions in a 2014 publication.
Pedagogical Career and Spiritual Inquiry
From 1997 until 2017, Januškevičius served as a professor at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, where he directed the Department of Mathematics, Informatics and Physics between 2001 and 2017. His pedagogical work focused on the training of mathematics and informatics teachers. Beyond mathematics, he collaborated with O. Januškevičienė on the book Basics of ethics. This text, which addresses moral inquiries regarding human existence and spirituality, reached its eighth edition by 2010 and was translated into Ukrainian.
Recognition
Januškevičius received the Order of Holy Prince Daniel of Moscow of the III degree. The award was presented by Patriarch Alexy II during a visit to Vilnius in July 1997, recognizing his contributions to the revival of spirituality and the promotion of Orthodoxy in Lithuania.
