Scoring the fastest goal in the history of the Ukrainian Premier League at just seven seconds, Roman Yaremchuk has navigated a prolific career across multiple European divisions. From his early developmental years in Kyiv to securing a domestic double in Greece, the Ukrainian striker has established a consistent presence as a goal-scoring threat on the international stage.

Development and Early Professional Years

Born in Lviv on 27 November 1995, Yaremchuk emerged through the youth systems of Karpaty Lviv and Dynamo Kyiv. His initial formal exposure to competitive football included successful stints with FC Dynamo-2, where he debuted on 14 July 2013 against Desna Chernihiv. Following his development, he spent time on loan at Oleksandriya during the 2016–17 season, where he gained recognition as the league's first player of the month.

European Club Tenure

In 2017, Yaremchuk signed with the Belgian side Gent, eventually reaching a peak of 20 league goals during the 2020–21 campaign. His performance prompted a high-profile move to Benfica in July 2021 for €18.5 million. He later joined Club Brugge in 2022 for a €16 million fee before completing a transfer to Super League Greece club Olympiacos in July 2024. His tenure in Greece included a notable two-goal performance against AEK Athens and a decisive goal in the 2025 Greek Cup final.

International Representation

Yaremchuk represented Ukraine across several youth categories, culminating in his participation in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He earned his first senior call-up in September 2018, debuting against the Czech Republic. He played a pivotal role in Ukraine's qualification for UEFA Euro 2020, scoring against Portugal and North Macedonia. He later represented the national team at UEFA Euro 2024.
