Consequently, he made only five appearances for the club. By January 2016, he secured a loan move to Vitória de Guimarães.
Consolidation at Vitória de Guimarães
The loan arrangement with Vitória de Guimarães began on 28 January 2016 and extended through 30 June 2016. On 3 August 2016, Reading sanctioned a second, season-long loan to the Portuguese club. This arrangement culminated on 20 July 2017, when Reading finalized a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee.
International Representation
Hurtado achieved international recognition with the Peru national team. In May 2018, he received a selection for the provisional 24-man squad tasked with competing in the 2018 FIFA World Cup held in Russia.
