Educational Foundation
His academic background includes studies at Robert College in Istanbul and the Millfield School in England. He later enrolled at Georgetown University before completing a bachelor's degree in Ancient Greek at Columbia College in 1985. The professional trajectory of Koç began in Geneva, Switzerland, at the Kofisa Trading Company. He transitioned to the family business in 1992, taking a role as a finance coordinator. Over the following decade, he held positions as vice president and president of the Energy Group. In 2004, he joined the board of directors, becoming vice chairman four years later. Following the death of his brother, Mustafa Vehbi Koç, in 2016, he assumed the role of chairman of Koç Holding. In addition to these duties, he chairs Tüpraş, the nation's primary oil refiner, and sits on the steering committee of the Bilderberg Meetings.

Beyond his industrial leadership, Koç is a notable collector of both contemporary and classical art. In 2010, he founded Arter, a nonprofit space dedicated to contemporary arts.
