Nirmala Sitharaman (born 1959) is an Indian politician. She was born in Madurai on 18 August 1959.
Nirmala Sitharaman served as member of Rajya Sabha (2014–2016), Minister of Defence (2017–2019), Minister of Commerce and Industry (2014–2017) and Minister of Finance (from 2019).
Nirmala Sitharaman took part in World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2017. She was elected to Rajya Sabha. She was educated at Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Nirmala Sitharaman married Parakala Prabhakar.
