Nicholas Jerry Jonas entered the entertainment industry at age six after a chance discovery in a barbershop. By age seven, he was performing on Broadway, eventually pivoting from theater to a career as a singer, songwriter, and actor that would place him at the center of the global pop-rock phenomenon known as the Jonas Brothers.
Early Career and Broadway
Born in Dallas in 1992, Jonas was raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey. His professional start involved various roles in Broadway productions, including Tiny Tim and Gavroche. In 2002, while performing in Beauty and the Beast, he co-wrote the song Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer) with his father. This led to a contract with Columbia Records and the 2004 release of a limited self-titled album.

Following the cancellation of his solo debut, Columbia Records president Steve Greenberg signed Nick and his brothers as a group. Despite initial label difficulties and the release of their 2006 album It's About Time, the group found significant success after signing with Hollywood Records in 2007. Their subsequent self-titled album and the 2008 release A Little Bit Longer both achieved multi-platinum status.
Disney and Transitions
The Jonas Brothers became fixtures of the Disney Channel, appearing in the 2008 film Camp Rock and its 2010 sequel. They also starred in the series Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream and Jonas. Following a hiatus, Jonas launched solo efforts such as his self-titled 2014 album and 2016's Last Year Was Complicated, later reuniting with his brothers in 2019 while maintaining a parallel acting career.
