Early Television Career
Born in 1992, Mrunal Thakur grew up in a Marathi-speaking family in Dhule, Maharashtra. Before completing her studies at Kishinchand Chellaram College, she exited the institution to focus on acting. Her screen debut occurred in 2012 with the Star Plus series Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan, where she played Gauri Bhosle. She later appeared as a journalist in the mystery thriller Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek – Arjun. Her most notable television project, Kumkum Bhagya, aired from 2014 to 2016, preceding her participation in reality programs such as Box Cricket League 1 and Nach Baliye 7.

Thakur transitioned to film with Marathi roles in Hello Nandan, Vitti Dandu, and Surajya. Her Hindi debut arrived with the 2018 film Love Sonia, a project centered on human trafficking for which she conducted field research in a brothel. She later achieved commercial success in 2019 playing Supriya in Super 30 and Nandita Kumar in Batla House. Following these roles, she participated in the horror anthology Ghost Stories and the sports drama Toofaan, alongside various music video appearances including Gallan Goriya and Bad Boy x Bad Girl.
Success in Telugu Film and Recent Projects
In 2022, Thakur starred in the Telugu romantic drama Sita Ramam, which proved to be a box-office blockbuster and earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu. She continued this success with the 2023 Telugu hit Hi Nanna, earning the SIIMA award for Best Actress Critics – Telugu.
