Milad Mohammadi

footballer

A failed, extravagant throw-in during the 93rd minute of the 2018 FIFA World Cup match against Spain propelled Milad Mohammadi into international notoriety. Beyond that viral moment, the Tehran-born footballer has maintained a consistent career as a left-back and winger, representing Iran and competing in top-tier leagues across Russia, Belgium, Greece, and Turkey.

Early Career and Move to Russia

Born in 1993 in the Fallah district of southern Tehran, Mohammadi began his professional journey with Rah Ahan in 2014. He signed a five-year contract and debuted in an Iran Pro League fixture against Esteghlal. By 2015, he drew interest from Austrian club Sturm Graz, though Rah Ahan management blocked the transfer. In February 2016, he signed with the Russian Premier League side Terek Grozny. He debuted in April 2016 against Anzhi Makhachkala and scored his first professional goal against Ural Yekaterinburg in 2017.
