Legal Foundation and Early Career
Wagner attended the Overlund School before enrolling at the University of Odense to study medicine. She ultimately shifted her focus to law, graduating from the University of Copenhagen in 2003. She began her legal career as a paralegal at Wagner Advokater, the firm established by her father, Morten L. Wagner. By 2008, she had attained the position of partner and director. The firm concluded its operations in 2017.

Following the closure of the family law firm, Wagner assumed the role of CEO at the Freeway Group, a position she held from 2017 to 2020. During this period, she gained significant public recognition through her participation in the television program Løvens Hule on DR1, where she served as an investor from 2018 until 2022. In 2021, she received the Investor of the Year award at the Nordic Women in Tech Awards. She further extended her media presence in 2023 by co-hosting the DR1 drama documentary, Matadorerne.
Entrepreneurial Initiatives
In 2020, Wagner co-founded the investment platform Nordic Female Founders alongside Anne Stampe Olesen. The venture aimed to address disparities in opportunities for female entrepreneurs and investors. Wagner has since divested her ownership stake in the company and concluded her professional partnership with Stampe Olesen.
Government Appointment
Representing the political party Venstre, Wagner was appointed as the Minister for Digitalisation and Gender Equality on 23 November 2023, succeeding Marie Bjerre in the Frederiksen II Cabinet. Her tenure was brief, lasting approximately two weeks. She resigned from the ministerial post on 7 December 2023, citing health reasons, leading to the re-appointment of Bjerre.
