Holding the title of all-time top scorer for the Netherlands national team with 55 goals, Memphis Depay has established a career spanning multiple European leagues and international tournaments. Born in Moordrecht in 1994, he emerged from the youth ranks of PSV Eindhoven to compete at the highest professional levels of global football while also pursuing interests as a musician.
Early Development and PSV Eindhoven
Depay began playing football in Moordrecht before joining Sparta Rotterdam. In 2011, he moved to PSV Eindhoven, where he made his professional debut in a KNVB Cup match against VVSB. Under manager Phillip Cocu, he became a core member of the squad, contributing to a 2012 KNVB Cup victory and the 2012 Johan Cruyff Shield. His tenure at PSV culminated in a standout 2014–15 season, where he scored 22 goals in 30 league games, earning him the Eredivisie top scorer title and Dutch Footballer of the Year honors.

In June 2015, Depay transferred to Manchester United for £25 million. Following his time in England, he moved to the French club Lyon in 2017. During his five seasons in France, he recorded over 70 goals and gained recognition in the 2020–21 Ligue 1 Team of the Year. In 2021, he joined Barcelona on a free transfer, winning the La Liga title and the Supercopa de España. He later signed with Atlético Madrid in 2023 before moving to the Brazilian side Corinthians in September 2024, where he secured the Copa do Brasil in 2025.
International Career
A product of the Royal Dutch Football Association, Depay represented the Netherlands across all professional levels. He was a member of the under-17 team that won the 2011 European Championship. He debuted for the senior national team in 2013 and contributed to their third-place finish at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. His international appearances continued through UEFA Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup, Euro 2024, and the 2026 World Cup.
