Early Career and Training
Born on 23 June 1972 in Sofia, Bulgaria, Grozdeva began her involvement in shooting sports at age 11. She formalized her athletic education by attending the National Sports Academy, where she graduated with a focus on sports shooting. This academic background served as the foundation for her transition into international competition, eventually leading to her participation in the 1992 Summer Olympics for both the 10-metre air pistol and 25-metre pistol events, as well as the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Grozdeva maintained consistent performance across CISM World Championships and ISSF World Cups throughout her tenure. Beyond her Olympic triumphs, she holds the final world record in the 25-metre pistol event. Her success earned her significant recognition in 2004, when she was named both the Bulgarian Sportsperson of the Year and the BTA Best Balkan Athlete of the Year.
Institutional Leadership and Retirement
Following an extensive career, Grozdeva participated in the 2020 Summer Olympics, competing in both the 25-metre pistol and 10-metre air pistol categories. Immediately following this event, she announced her retirement from professional sport. Her contributions to the discipline extended into administration as one of the founders of the Bulgarian Shooting Union. She served as the organization's president from 2012 until 2022, when she was succeeded by Vesela Letcheva.
