Lucas Moura, born in 1992 in São Paulo, Brazil, established himself as a prominent winger and attacking midfielder within the international football circuit. Beginning his professional trajectory in his home country, he evolved into a key figure for club teams across Brazil, France, and England, while securing numerous domestic trophies and representing the Brazil national team on several occasions.

Early Career in Brazil

Moura entered the youth systems of Juventus-SP and Corinthians before joining São Paulo in 2005. Initially known as Marcelinho due to his physical resemblance to the former player, he requested to be identified by his given name to distinguish his career. Promoted by Milton Cruz, he debuted for the first team in 2010. By 2011, he recorded 13 goals and eight assists across all competitions, cementing his reputation in the Campeonato Brasileiro.

European Tenure

In January 2013, Moura transferred to the French club Paris Saint-Germain for a fee estimated at €45 million. Over five seasons, he contributed to multiple domestic trophy wins. In January 2018, he moved to Tottenham Hotspur for approximately £25 million. During the 2018-19 campaign, he provided a landmark performance in the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Ajax, scoring a hat-trick to secure Tottenham’s first-ever appearance in the tournament final.

Return to São Paulo

After departing Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, Moura returned to São Paulo. His homecoming attracted significant attention as a major transfer in Brazilian football. He resumed wearing the number 7 shirt and contributed to the club securing the Copa do Brasil in his first season back. His professional experience spans over 30 caps for the Brazilian national team, including appearances at the Copa América, the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, and the 2012 Olympics, where he earned a silver medal.
