A position as the highest-paid employee at Crédit Agricole in March 2007 preceded Loïc Féry’s pivot into the hedge fund industry. Before establishing himself in the upper echelons of the French financial sector, he navigated the Asian financial crisis as a trader in Hong Kong and managed staff in the City of London.
Early Development and Academic Path
Born in 1974 in Nancy, Féry spent his youth in Pont-à-Mousson, where his parents worked as educators in physical education and mathematics. His academic performance during his formative years was marked by a Baccalauréat scientifique achieved with a très bien grade. He moved on to higher education at the Lycée du Parc in Lyon and subsequently HEC Paris. During his time as a student, he secured a competition victory that allowed him to lead a telematics project in Eastern Europe at age 19.

Féry entered the professional financial sector in 1997, relocating to Hong Kong to oversee credit markets for Société Générale. Following his tenure in Asia, he settled in London in 2001 to lead business initiatives for Crédit Agricole. His oversight extended to a team of 150 people by 2006. In 2007, he launched the investment firm Chenavari, an enterprise he named after a peak visible from his childhood home. By 2020, the firm managed approximately $5 billion in assets.
FC Lorient Management
Féry transitioned into sports management in 2009 by acquiring FC Lorient, becoming the youngest president in Ligue 1 at the time. His tenure saw varying success, including periods where the club remained debt-free by 2012. He balanced his leadership role with administrative duties for the Ligue de Football Professionnel. Challenges included multiple relegations, a reliance on heavy investment, and public scrutiny regarding the recruitment of Benjamin Mendy in 2023. By 2026, he shifted his role within the club’s ownership structure while continuing as president.
