Victory at the 2015 CIK-FIA World KFJ Championship marked Logan Sargeant as the first American to secure an FIA Karting World title since 1978. Born in Fort Lauderdale in 2000, Sargeant moved through European junior single-seater categories before joining the Formula One grid. His professional path spanned from karting circuits to top-tier international grand prix racing.
Early Development and Karting
Sargeant began racing in 2008, initially competing in regional Rotax Micro Max classes. After relocating to Europe to advance his career, he participated in high-level series including the WSK Euro Series and the ROK Cup International Final. Following his 2015 world championship win, he transitioned to senior karting, where he claimed the 2016 WSK Champions Cup title in the OK class.

The transition to cars began with the 2016-17 Formula 4 UAE Championship, where Sargeant secured fifteen podium finishes. He followed this with a third-place standing in the 2017 F4 British Championship. In 2018, he competed in the Formula Renault Eurocup, winning races at Circuit Paul Ricard, the Nürburgring, and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to finish fourth in the final standings.
FIA Formula 3 and Formula 2 Campaigns
Sargeant joined the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2019 with Carlin, later moving to Prema Racing for the 2020 season. He finished third in the 2020 title race after leading for much of the campaign. Following a return to F3 with Charouz Racing System in 2021, he moved to the FIA Formula 2 Championship. He completed his debut full season in F2 in 2022 with Carlin, finishing fourth overall.
Formula One Entry and Tenure
As a member of the Williams Driver Academy between 2021 and 2022, Sargeant secured a seat with the Williams Formula One team for 2023. He made his debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix and scored his only championship point at the United States Grand Prix. His 2024 season concluded after the Dutch Grand Prix, at which point he was replaced by Franco Colapinto.
