Lauri Kristian Relander (1883–1942) was a politician; the 2nd President of Finland. Relander was born in Kurkijoki on 31 May 1883. He died in Helsinki on 9 February 1942, at the age of 59.
Relander served as member of the Parliament of Finland, President of Finland (1925–1931), Speaker of the Parliament of Finland (1919–1920) and managing director (1931–1942).
Relander was awarded Order of the White Eagle (1929), Grand Cross with Collar of the Order of the Three Stars (1928), 1st Class of the Order of the Cross of the Eagle (1930), Cross of Liberty 3rd Division, 1st Class (1925) and Royal Order of the Seraphim (1925). He was educated at Imperial Alexander University.
Relander was the son of Evald Relander and Kerttuli Maaria Olsoni. He married Signe Relander. He is recorded as following Lutheranism. The recorded cause of death is myocardial infarction.
