Early Career and Eurovision
Fabian began her professional journey in the 1980s by competing in various European music contests. In 1988, she represented Luxembourg at the 33rd Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, Ireland. Performing the Jacques Cardona and Alain Garcia composition Croire, she secured fourth place. The single achieved notable success, with sales reaching nearly 500,000 copies across Europe.

In 1990, Fabian moved to Montreal, Quebec, accompanied by collaborator Rick Allison to found the label Productions Clandestines. Her 1991 self-titled French-language debut album established her locally, selling over 100,000 copies. The follow-up, 1994's Carpe diem, achieved gold status within three weeks and eventually reached double platinum. This period culminated in two 1995 Félix Awards for Best Show of The Year and Best Female Singer.
International Expansion
The 1997 album Pure solidified her status in France, selling over two million copies and producing hit singles including Tout and Je t'aime. In 1999, she entered the North American English-language market with a self-titled album recorded in New York and San Francisco. The lead single, I Will Love Again, topped the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. She has since garnered accolades such as the 1998 Victory of revelation and recognition as a Commander of the Walloon Merit.
