Academic Foundations and Early Career
Simonova graduated from the Artistic School of Yevpatoriya before enrolling at the Tavrida National V.I. Vernadsky University in Kyiv. She earned a degree with honors in 2007, specializing in psychophysiology. Simultaneously, she pursued graphic design at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing, graduating in 2008. During these years, she engaged in translation work involving English folk poetry and the literature of William Shakespeare, Robert Burns, and George Gordon Byron. The shift toward sand performance originated as a practical response to family financial constraints at the suggestion of her husband, Igor Paskar. After finding standard beach or river sand unsuitable for detailed imagery, the couple acquired specialized volcanic sand to refine her technique. This experimentation led her to enter the 2009 Ukraine's Got Talent competition, where her eight-minute narrative focusing on a couple separated by conflict garnered significant attention. She won the event, receiving the equivalent of 100,000 euros, and subsequently used the funds to purchase a house in Yevpatoriya while transitioning into an international performer.
Global Recognition and Competition Success
Simonova’s career expanded through high-profile invitations, including performances at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest and the 2016 Champion League Final Gala. Her work has been presented before diverse audiences, including Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, Princess Sirindhorn of Thailand, and the President of Malta, George Abela. In 2019, she gained further exposure through the Got Talent franchise. She appeared on America's Got Talent: The Champions and Britain's Got Talent: The Champions, becoming the first performer to receive two Golden Buzzers across the series.
