Katarina Bulatović

Fifty-three goals during the 2012 Summer Olympics established Katarina Bulatović as the tournament’s top scorer and secured her a position on the event’s All-star team. Born in 1984 in Kragujevac, the right back built a professional career that spanned several international clubs before culminating in her 2023 induction into the European Handball Federation Hall of Fame.

Early Career and International Representation

Bulatović began her international journey representing Serbia and Montenegro, followed by a tenure playing for Serbia. In 2011, she transitioned to represent Montenegro. Her domestic success included winning the Damehåndboldligaen in 2007 and the Liga Naţională in 2013, alongside consistent dominance in the Montenegrin Championship and Montenegrin Cup from 2008 through 2019.

European and Olympic Achievements

The year 2012 marked a significant peak in her performance. In addition to her Olympic silver medal, she led the Montenegrin team to victory at the 2012 European Women's Handball Championship, recording 56 goals. She was named to the All-star team for both tournaments. Her offensive consistency was further evidenced by her status as the third-best goalscorer in the EHF Women's Champions League during the 2010–11, 2011–12, and 2013–14 editions.

Club Titles and Individual Recognition

Throughout her career, Bulatović maintained a strong record in major club competitions. She secured the EHF Champions League title in 2007, 2012, 2014, and 2015, while winning the EHF Cup Winners' Cup in 2010. Beyond her team successes, she earned recognition as the Montenegrin Sportsperson of the Year in 2012 and 2014. In 2012, she finished fourth in the voting for the IHF World Player of the Year award, capturing 12 percent of the total votes.
