Early Training and Military Service
Albrecht spent his youth in the Bregenzerwald region. His formal instruction began at the State Trade School in Innsbruck between 1906 and 1910. Later, he advanced his skills at the Municipal Commercial School in Munich and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under the mentorship of Josef Muellner. His education was interrupted by World War I, where he served three years as a lieutenant in the Tyrolean Kaiserjaeger. During this military tenure, he earned the Gold Medal of Courage, the highest distinction provided by the Austrian Army.

In 1929, Albrecht began work on the Waelderhaus, a structure he designed and supervised until its 1931 opening. His contributions to the project extended beyond structural planning to the creation of pottery reliefs, tapestry designs, maps, wood cuts, and bronze statues. Earlier, in 1920, he contributed to the decorative elements of the John Michael Kohler House, focusing on leaded glass cabinet doors and stained glass windows.
Civic Commissions and Artistic Legacy
Albrecht maintained a prolific output of war memorials and ecclesiastical architecture. His 1924 project included the war memorial chapel in Bezau. He designed the 1927 memory portal for the St. Nicholas church in Egg and the 1934 War Memorial in Au. Later, in 1957, he executed a bronze panel for the Kohler Memorial Theater and carved a life-sized basswood figure of the eagle Old Abe. His final years brought recognition in his home country, receiving an honorary award in 1961 and silver decorations from Vorarlberg in 1968.
