Early Education and Teaching
Epstein attended Cooper Union between 1969 and 1971 before moving to the Courant Institute School of Mathematics, Computing, and Data Science from 1971 to 1974. He did not earn a degree. His professional life began at the Dalton School in New York City, where he worked as a teacher from 1974 to 1976.

In 1976, Epstein moved into finance, joining Bear Stearns, where he worked until 1981. He later served at the Towers Financial Corporation between 1987 and 1989. His career centered on commerce and private financial management. During his professional life, he operated out of the Villard Houses and established the Financial Trust Company.
Institutional Affiliations
Throughout his career, Epstein maintained membership in several organizations, including the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Institute of International Education. He held roles as a trustee for various entities between 1992 and 2007, serving as a chairperson from 2000 to 2007. He also founded the Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation.
Legal History and Death
Epstein was a registered sex offender following a 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor for prostitution. In 2019, he was indicted on federal charges of sex trafficking minors. He died in August 2019 while held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City. His remains were buried in Palm Beach Gardens.
