Early Career and International Assignments
After graduating from the École supérieure d'électronique de l'Ouest in 1985 and completing his studies at Emlyon Business School in 1986, Tricoire gained initial experience at Alcatel, Schlumberger, and Saint-Gobain. He joined Merlin Gerin in 1986, a company Schneider Electric acquired in 1992. His professional trajectory involved extensive international experience, including five years in Italy between 1989 and 1994, followed by five years in China, and a subsequent management period in South Africa.

Tricoire progressed through internal roles, serving as Executive Vice President of the International Division from 2002 to 2003 and Chief Operating Officer from 2003 to 2006. He became the chief executive officer in 2006. By 2013, he also assumed the title of chairman. Throughout his tenure, he shifted the company's focus toward energy management, automation, and sustainability, while expanding its market footprint significantly in Asia.

Beyond his executive duties at Schneider Electric, Tricoire has engaged in corporate governance and advisory capacities. He joined the board of directors at Qualcomm in 2020. His advisory work includes serving on the International Advisory Council of the Singapore Economic Development Board. Additionally, he provides input to advisory councils in Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong, and serves as a member of the Board of Trustees at Northeastern University.
