Early Development and Training
Park demonstrated an early aptitude for dance and music, joining the Seattle-based b-boy crew Art of Movement in 2003. His focus on breakdancing during his high school years at Edmonds-Woodway eventually led to a talent audition organized by JYP Entertainment in 2004. Park gained initial public visibility through the reality program Hot Blood Men. As the highest-voted trainee, he was appointed leader of the boy band 2PM, which debuted in September 2008 with the mini-album Hottest Time of the Day. His involvement with the group included participation in several variety television programs, such as Idol Show and Wild Bunny, alongside contributions to various soundtracks and collaborative stage performances.
Transition to Solo Career
In 2009, past comments discovered on a personal Myspace account led to public controversy, resulting in Park’s departure from 2PM and his return to the United States. Following a period of hiatus and reassessment, he returned to South Korea in June 2010 for the filming of Hype Nation. He subsequently signed with the entertainment agency SidusHQ, rebranding as a solo artist and shifting his focus toward the underground hip hop culture.
Entrepreneurial Ventures
Building on his standing within the Korean music scene, Park expanded into business by founding independent hip hop record labels, including AOMG and H1ghr Music. He later launched the label More Vision. These platforms served to influence the commercial landscape of K-hip hop, with Park increasingly recognized for his role as an artist, PR representative, and industry figure responsible for popularizing the genre domestically.
