Domestic Foundations
Bumrah entered organized cricket through the Gujarat Cricket Association's Under-19 trials in 2010. Although initially placed as a reserve, his seven-wicket performance in a district match secured his development. He made his T20 debut in the 2012–13 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, contributing to a title-winning run. His first-class career began during the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy against Vidarbha, where he claimed seven wickets.

In 2013, head coach John Wright invited Bumrah to join the Mumbai Indians after observing his performance against the team. Since that signing, he has become a long-term fixture for the franchise. His impact includes five Indian Premier League title victories. He currently stands as the second-highest wicket-taker in the history of the Mumbai Indians, having secured 181 wickets across 142 matches.
International Milestones
Bumrah made his international debut during the 2016 tour of Australia, where he immediately topped the T20 series wicket-takers list. He later achieved the milestone of becoming the first Indian bowler to collect 100 wickets across all international formats. His performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup earned him Player of the Tournament honors, highlighted by a disciplined 4.17 economy rate throughout the championship.
