Youth Career and Medical Recovery
Born in 1990 in Copenhagen, Bhuyan grew up in Brøndby Nord. His early development occurred within the youth academy of Brøndby IF, where he earned notice after scoring against F.C. Copenhagen reserves. While on the verge of senior promotion, he was caught in a violent confrontation. The resulting injuries necessitated an extensive recovery period, during which medical professionals considered nerve grafts from his legs to his arm to restore feeling. Bhuyan declined the procedure, prioritizing his mobility for football.

Bhuyan transitioned to senior football with the Danish 2nd Division club Hellerup IK. In 2012, he signed with Abahani Limited Dhaka, marking his entry into the Bangladesh club scene. Following a brief return to Denmark for spells at BK Avarta and Avedøre IF, he joined Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in 2014. That season, he achieved a domestic double by securing the 2015 Bangladesh Premier League and the 2015 Federation Cup, while also winning the 2014 King's Cup in Bhutan.
Professional Movements and International Duty
Subsequent years saw Bhuyan represent several clubs, including Sheikh Russel KC, Saif SC, and a loan period with Chittagong Abahani for the 2019 Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup. In 2020, he joined the Indian club Kolkata Mohammedan on loan, captaining the team against Churchill Brothers. By August 2023, he transferred to the Argentine club Club Sol de Mayo in the Torneo Federal A. Internationally, he debuted for Bangladesh on 31 August 2013 against Nepal, becoming the first non-resident player to represent the country.
Major Achievements and Media Presence
Beyond his club performance, Bhuyan helped the Bangladesh U23 squad qualify for the round of 16 in the 2018 Asian Games by scoring a stoppage-time winner against Qatar U23. He received individual recognition as the Most Valuable Player in the 2015 Bangabandhu Cup. Outside of sport, he served as a live commentator for La Liga studio broadcasts on matches such as Real Valladolid versus Valencia CF and performed in the 2026 web series Brazentina.
