Early Education and Academic Progression
Born in 1929 in Shusha, Allakhverdiyev completed his secondary schooling in 1946. Although initially slated for a gold medal, he eventually received a silver medal following administrative adjustments. He earned his undergraduate degree from Azerbaijan State University in 1951 before pursuing postgraduate studies at Moscow State University. By 1968, he defended his Doctorate of Science thesis at the Institute of Applied Mathematics within the USSR Academy of Sciences, and he was named a professor the following year.

Allakhverdiyev specialized in the investigation of not self-interfaced operators, particularly those depending on parameters. His research focused on the completeness of systems of own and attached elements. Administratively, he served as the deputy director for science at the Institute of Cybernetics from 1969 to 1970, subsequently becoming its director until 1987. From 1988 to 1994, he acted as prorector for science at Baku State University, later leading the Mathematical Modeling and Operation Study department.
Professional Recognition and International Engagement
In 1972, he became a Corresponding Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, achieving status as a Full Member in 2001. His work received official acknowledgement when he was named a Laureate of the State Prize of the Azerbaijan SSR on February 12, 1982. Outside of his domestic duties, he taught at Istanbul University between 1998 and 2000 and supervised Azerbaijani student teams at the International Mathematical Olympiads held in India and Argentina during the 1990s.
