Jamaal Lascelles, an English centre-back born in 1993, established his professional career through the youth academy at Nottingham Forest. Early Career and Nottingham Forest
Raised in Derby, Lascelles progressed through the Nottingham Forest youth system before signing professional terms in March 2011. His first-team debut occurred on 31 January 2012 in a loss against Burnley. During the 2011–12 season, he spent two months on loan at Stevenage, where he made nine appearances and scored his first goal against Yeovil Town. Upon returning to Nottingham Forest, he became a regular fixture, notably partnering with Jack Hobbs in central defence during the 2013–14 campaign.

In August 2014, Lascelles signed with Newcastle United, though he remained at Forest on loan for the 2014–15 season. His official Newcastle debut arrived in August 2015 against Northampton Town in the League Cup. By 2016, manager Rafael Benítez appointed him as team captain. He captained the side to promotion from the EFL Championship in 2017 while playing through a double hernia injury. He later signed multiple long-term contract extensions, remaining with the club through various managerial changes.
Leadership and Final Seasons
Despite a shift in playing status following the 2022 arrival of Sven Botman, Lascelles maintained an influential role in the squad. He sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in March 2024, which sidelined him for several months. By March 2025, he celebrated the club's EFL Cup victory against Liverpool. In February 2026, he moved to Leicester City on a short-term deal, which concluded in May 2026 upon the team's relegation to League One.
