Early Career and Celta Breakthrough
Emerging from the youth ranks of Celta de Vigo, Aspas debuted for the first team during the 2007–08 Segunda División season. His profile grew significantly on 6 June 2009, when he scored two goals as a substitute against Alavés, securing a victory that prevented relegation. By the 2011–12 campaign, he secured 23 league goals, earning the Zarra Trophy and the title of best forward in the division as the club returned to La Liga.

Aspas joined Liverpool in June 2013 for a fee estimated between £7–9 million. He made his Premier League debut on 17 August 2013, assisting Daniel Sturridge against Stoke City. His only competitive goal for the club arrived on 5 January 2014 in an FA Cup match against Oldham Athletic. In July 2014, he returned to Spain on loan to Sevilla, where he eventually shared the title of top scorer in the 2014–15 Copa del Rey alongside Neymar.
Establishing a Legacy at Celta
After a permanent move back to Celta de Vigo in 2015, Aspas became a consistent offensive force. He achieved his 100th goal for the club on 5 November 2017 and reached 100 La Liga goals on 24 June 2020. In November 2020, his 105th top-flight goal for Celta surpassed the 69-year record previously held by Hermidita. He has earned recognition as the La Liga Player of the Month multiple times, including in October 2016 and December 2020.
International Representation
Aspas made his debut for the Spain senior national team in 2016. Following his introduction to the international stage, he was selected to represent Spain at the 2018 World Cup.
