Formative Years and Education

He expanded his scope into television production, notably helping develop the original MacGyver series. His filmography includes diverse roles in projects such as Night Shift, Scream, The Waterboy, Click, The French Dispatch, and Black Adam. In recent years, he earned a Primetime Emmy Award for his role as Gene Cousineau in the series Barry.
Literary Contributions
Drawing upon his personal experiences with learning disabilities, Winkler co-wrote the Hank Zipzer children's book series between 2003 and 2010. This literature was later adapted into a television series where he appeared as the character Mr. Rock.
