Glen Kamara

Glen Adjei Kamara began his professional football career at Arsenal, making his competitive debut in an EFL League Cup match against Sheffield Wednesday in October 2015.

Early life and development

Born in 1995 in Tampere, Finland, to parents from Sierra Leone, Kamara spent his childhood in Espoo. He played youth football for Olarin Tarmo–77 and Espoon Palloseura. At age 12, he moved to London with his mother and sister. In England, he played for the Sunday league team Westway before joining the Southend United youth system and subsequently the Arsenal academy in 2012.

English and Scottish club tenure

Following his solitary appearance for Arsenal, Kamara completed loan spells at Southend United and Colchester United. He moved to Dundee in 2017 on a two-year deal. In January 2019, he transferred to Rangers for £50,000. During his time in Scotland, he helped the club win the 2020–21 league title, earning a spot in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year. He also played in the 2022 UEFA Europa League final.

International career and subsequent moves

Kamara made his senior international debut for Finland in 2017 against Estonia. He was selected for the UEFA Euro 2020 squad and appeared in all 10 qualification matches for UEFA Euro 2024. In August 2023, he joined Leeds United for a reported £5.5 million. He later moved to the French club Rennes in July 2024 for a €10 million fee. By August 2026, he was on loan to Queens Park Rangers.
