Glenn James Maxwell, born 14 October 1988 in Kew, Australia, is a professional cricketer recognized for his unorthodox right-handed batting and off-spin bowling. He has represented the Australian national team across all three primary formats of the sport, most notably establishing himself as a significant contributor in Twenty20 Internationals throughout his extensive international career.
Domestic Foundations
Maxwell began his journey within the Victorian cricket system, having played junior cricket for South Belgrave Cricket Club. His transition from medium-pace bowling to off-spin occurred during his development years. He gained significant attention in February 2011 by scoring a 51-run half-century from 19 balls in a Ryobi Cup match against Tasmania, a performance that marked the fastest such feat in Australian domestic one-day history at the time. His first-class debut for Victoria followed later that month.
