Three consecutive terms as a member of the Iranian Parliament defined the political trajectory of Fatemeh Rahbar. Representing the electoral district of Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat, and Eslamshahr, she remained a consistent figure within the legislative body for over a decade. Her career encompassed both public service and administrative roles before her death in early 2020.
Legislative Service
Rahbar held office in the Islamic Consultative Assembly across three distinct periods, spanning from 2005 to 2017. During her time in parliament, she functioned as the chair of the Media and Art Committee and led the Women's Fraction. Additionally, she served as the vice president of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO. Following her years in the legislature, she secured election to a fourth term but did not live to assume the position.

Outside of her parliamentary duties, Rahbar pursued various administrative and technical roles. She held a master's degree in visual communication alongside a Ph.D. in strategic management. Her professional history included serving as a production manager for the Internet Network and as the secretary for the Supreme Council on Internet Policy. Furthermore, she acted as the deputy head of the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation.
Political Affiliation and Final Days
As a member of the Islamic Coalition Party, Rahbar maintained a conservative political stance throughout her career. In early 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran, she contracted the virus. On 5 March 2020, she entered a coma as a result of the infection. She died two days later, on 7 March 2020, in Tehran at the age of 56.
