Formative Training
Born in Borås, Sweden, in 1824, Langlet pursued his architectural education at the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. He continued his studies at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts from 1846 to 1851, where he trained under Per Axel Nyström. To expand his professional scope, he traveled to Paris in 1850, attending the École des Beaux-arts under the tutelage of Guillaume-Abel Blouet.

Langlet established a significant professional presence in Norway before returning to his home country. His portfolio included the Fredrikstad Town Hall and the Fredrikstad Hospital, both commissioned in the early 1860s. He also designed Sagatun, recognized as the first folk high school in the country, and Hartvig Nissens Girls' School in Oslo. Additionally, he was responsible for the plans for the Drammen Theater.
Professional Responsibilities and Restoration
Following his return to Sweden in 1866, Langlet shifted his focus toward ecclesiastical architecture and public administration. He oversaw the construction of twelve churches, notably the Erska Church in Sollebrunn between 1885 and 1886. His career included roles as an instructor at the Royal Institute of Technology and an editorial position at the publication Tidskrift för byggkunkonst og ingeniørskennis. His later years were dedicated to the preservation of historical sites, including the restoration of the Uppsala Cathedral and the Visby City Wall.
