Early Development and French League Tenure
Elisha Owusu progressed through the Lyon academy system to become the captain of the reserve team. His professional debut occurred on 27 July 2018 during a Ligue 2 match for Sochaux against Grenoble. Following a successful season, he moved to the Belgian First Division A in June 2019, joining Gent for a fee of one million euros. In January 2023, the midfielder returned to France to sign a contract with Ligue 1 side Auxerre. Donning the number 42 shirt, he scored his first professional goal on 23 September 2023 against Troyes at the Stade de l'Aube. His performance contributed to the team's success, resulting in a Ligue 2 title during the 2023–24 season. Recognizing his ongoing contributions, the club extended his contract in June 2024 to remain with the side until June 2027.
International Representation
Though born in France, Owusu represents the Ghana national team. His international debut occurred on 29 March 2022 during a World Cup qualification match against Nigeria, which ended in a draw and secured Ghana's place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. In June 2026, coach Carlos Queiroz named him to the national squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
