In 2004, while in his junior year at Harvard, Saverin partnered with Mark Zuckerberg to launch Facebook. Serving as the company’s chief financial officer and business manager, he initially invested $1,000, followed by an additional $18,000 to support operations. In 2023, he and his wife, Elaine Andriejanssen, established the Eduardo and Elaine Saverin Foundation in Singapore. The organization focuses on health care, mental health, education, and wildlife conservation.
