Ederson Santana de Moraes, born 17 August 1993, established himself as a prominent goalkeeper through a professional career spanning Portugal, England, and Turkey. Early Development and Portuguese Foundations

Born in Osasco, São Paulo, Ederson began his football trajectory at São Paulo in 2008. Following a junior period at Benfica, he signed with the second-division club Ribeirão in 2011. By 2012, he transitioned to the Primeira Liga with Rio Ave. His performance earned him a return to Benfica in 2015 for €500,000. He eventually secured a starting position during the 2015–16 season, contributing to the club's 35th league title and subsequent treble success.

Manchester City Tenure

In 2017, Ederson transferred to Manchester City for £35 million. Serving as the primary goalkeeper under Pep Guardiola, he played 372 matches for the club. His tenure included winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, and the 2023 Champions League. Between 2020 and 2022, he achieved three consecutive Premier League Golden Glove awards for maintaining the highest number of clean sheets.

Transition to Fenerbahçe

Ederson joined the Turkish club Fenerbahçe on 2 September 2025 on a three-year contract. He debuted in a victory against Trabzonspor on 14 September. In January 2026, he secured the Turkish Super Cup after a 2–0 win over Galatasaray at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium. His time in Turkey has been marked by league appearances, a continental debut against Dinamo Zagreb, and physical challenges including a three-week injury absence in early 2026.

International Participation

Since his senior debut in 2017, Ederson has participated in multiple international competitions. He was selected for the FIFA World Cup squads in 2018, 2022, and 2026. Additionally, he featured in the 2019 and 2021 Copa América tournaments, contributing to the squad that emerged victorious in the 2019 competition.
